Our Services
We help engineers at manufacturers and industrial automation companies use different light wavelengths and geometries to increase the accuracy and reliability of machine vision systems.
Who we help and how
Engineers seek our expertise when they:
Lack an in-house vision expert and/or they have limited floor space for testing applications
Realize mid-project that they need lighting for their machine vision system
Receive a request to fix a system that isn’t working and find that the cause is improper/insufficient lighting
Have a new design project and know that considering lighting from the start increases the likelihood of finishing on-schedule with highly reliable and accurate results
How we help solve those problems
The right service for you depends on the stage of your buying process:
You are looking for a good place to start: Application discussion
Sometimes you don't know how to figure out the light you need or how to narrow down potential lights to test.
Set up a meeting or phone call with our Application Engineers to discuss your application and brainstorm the best ways to solve it.
This is best if samples cannot be sent for a free evaluation or you have a comprehensive lab, but you're stuck and not sure if there are other techniques to try.
You don’t know what lighting you need: Free application evaluation
Customers start with an application evaluation form specifying their system requirements, including but not limited to:
The target information you are inspecting for
Description of inspection environment and constraints current imaging conditions like FOV, exposure time, etc. (if applicable)
Conveyor speed
You then send us samples (good and bad) of your product, and we will test for the most suitable lighting setup to get the image you need. (Preliminary results within 2 weeks)
We will summarize the results in an application report and recommend either:
Standard light: an off-the-shelf product from one or more of our CCS Group brands
Semi-custom light: a slightly modified version of an existing model (wavelength, size, voltage, connector, etc.)
Custom light: a light designed and built from scratch by our headquarters in Japan
You think you know what lighting you need: Free demo loans (30 days)
When customers have narrowed down potential lighting options and need to test which works best in their system, they can borrow our demo lights for 30 days.
We offer this service for free.
You need help operating the lighting you use: Technical assistance
Get one-on-one support with our Sales team and App team when you have questions about operating our products. You can expect an initial response within 24 hours.
You want to build up your staff and customer’s knowledge of machine vision lighting: Trainings
When customers want to upskill their existing team or educate customers by teaching them fundamental machine vision principles, we offer virtual and in-person training.
Virtual:
Virtual session held through a video conference tool of your choice (from 30 minutes up to 3 hours depending on how much you want to learn)
Quarterly webinars (you can watch past webinars here)
(Resources to get you started: our Lighting Principles Webinar Series)
In-person:
A 1-day session at your office or one of our locations with a member of our App team and your local CCS sales representative
Each session includes presentations to describe machine vision techniques followed by a hands-on portion to utilize the techniques in person
